  • “English language training” for municipal staff Dashrathchand Municipality Programme details of the training The training is arranged due to the annual plan of RLC Far Western Region. As municipal staff depend on communication with English speaking colleagues, their knowledge in English language is crucial not only for communication, but also for implementation of the present activities as well to ensure the sustainability of all activities. English language capacity is an essential skill required for daily work of municipal staff. With the view to strengthen the capacity RLC Far Western Region organize this training to staff members in Dashrathchand as well as in Nepalgunj. The trainings are attended to impart knowledge as well to share experiences of all participants. By improving and learning together a new language a better cooperation with foreign organizations should be possible.

    Programme details of the training: The training is arranged due to the annual plan of RLC Far Western Region. As municipalities depend on outside resources, their capacitity to access the fundings is crucial not only for implementation of the present activities, but also to ensure the sustainability of all activities. Proposal writing capacity is an essential skill required for approaching the funding sources. With the view to strengthen the capacity RLC Far Western Region organize this training to staff members in Terai region at Bhimdhatta Municipality as well as in Hill region in Dashrathchand. The trainings are attended to impart knowledge as well to share experiences of all participants.

    Objectives of the training programme are to orient about the theoretical and practical aspects of proposal and report writing, to enhance proposal writing skills, techniques and methodologies required for submitting proposals to various donors and local bodies, to improve the basic linguistic skills required for proposal writing and to review the training manual/handouts for proposal writing training.

  • “Experience Sharing Programme on Solid Waste Management” in Tikapur Municipal Regional Learning Centre – Far Western Region together with RLC Mid Western Region Objective of the workshop The objectives of the workshop are as follows 1. Experience sharing relating to waste disposal and cleanliness among all participating municipalities, 2. To identify the problems/challenges faced by the municipalities in waste disposal.

  • Orientation and experience exchange workshop on “Environmental Impact Assessment” in Dhangadhi Municipal Regional Learning Centre – Far Western Region together with RLC Mid Western Region Objective of the workshop The objectives of the workshop are as follows: 1. The workshop is intended to inform the civil engineers of our municipal planning sections in the principles and context of Environmental Impact Assessment as well as to give an overview in Environmental Assessment report preparation, review and decision making. 2. Experience sharing relating to Environmental Impact Assessment At the end of the workshop all participants should have knowledge about: • The principle and understanding of Environmental Assessment • Environmental Assessment in the non-regulatory and regulatory context • Environmental screening, scoping and Term of Reference • Baseline information • Alternative analysis • Identification, prediction and evaluation of environmental impacts • Environmental protection measures • Environmental monitoring • Environmental auditing • Environmental management plan
